Digital Life is a blog that features a weekly technology column by the same name that appears every Tuesday in Manila Standard Today, a national daily from the Philippines. From November 2002 to October 2004, the column was carried by the Manila Times. This website gives readers and researchers easy access to the content from the weekly column. Chin Wong has been covering the Philippine IT industry since the 1980s, starting as a reporter for Business Day, Southeast Asia’s first daily business newspaper. In 1991, he helped found Computerworld Philippines, and worked as its editor until his retirement from the company in 2002. In that year, he was named IT Journalist of the Year at the
Philippine ICT Journalism Awards. He is also the author of Reporting on ICT, a source book used by the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism.
He is now a lecturer in journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University and associate editor for the Manila Standard Today. Before that, he also served as technology editor of the Manila Times until October 2004.
He holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Western Ontario (1981) where he earned the Hugh Bremner Award as outstanding broadcast journalism student. He earned his undergraduate degree also in journalism from the University of the Philippines (1979) where he graduated cum laude.
